WELCOME TO THE FAE REVOLUTION

Headwitch of WITCHWYRD, Host of Table Presence

Fae "Rose Revolt" Revolution is a freelance tabletop gamer for the greater nerd community, with experience and interest in everything from Diplomacy to Interstitial, Avery Alder to H. G. Wells.

A denizen of St. Louis, Missouri, Fae's seen the heart of the Midwest and has chosen to stay and create something new there. In the middle of writing this bio, they suddenly understand why authors struggle so much to describe themselves. Thankfully for her, fae has no such sense of humility. (This is a joke. Writing this is like pulling teeth.)

Fae has a grab bag of skills acquired over 29 years of random encounters. Graphic design, Nerf modding, queer history, webediting, sewing, painting, cooking, interior decoration, witchery, first aid; if you can name a skill that can be used to help facilitate an immersive event, fae has an interest in it. Her special interest is in LARP - Live Action Role Playing - from swordfighting battlegames like Amtgard, historical skill share like the Society for Creative Anachronism, combat wargames like Airsoft, and immersive roleplaying like Solarean Adventures.

Fae believes that limiting cooperative play to children damages our ability to cooperate as adults. We've made a lot of progress in the United States of America towards collaboratively playing together in a shared community: but we're not quite all the way there yet. As long as competitive play is valued more by people than collaborative play, we have a problem. Until we have the means to choose between competitive or cooperative play whenever we sit down to a game in community, we will not have the tools we need to take on life as full citizens of Terra.

Whew! Gosh, that was a little dramatic.

Hopefully I didn't scare you off with that screed. TL;DR: I love cooperative play, especially playing LARPs, and I think we need to do more of it as a community.

I'm also trans and queer in a lot of different ways, and that informs my understanding of community and cooperation! I'm always willing to have a conversation about that, even if sometimes the conversation involves me directing you to resources to learn the basics.

In the meantime, reach out! I'm always willing to hear about cool opportunities, interesting stories, new ideas in games, tips about awesome LARPs, and all that jazz. If it has the words [Role-Playing], [Butch], [Nerf], [Trans], [Sword], [Lesbian], or [RP] in it, I'm probably going to be interested in hearing about it! Reach out to me through faerevolt [at] google dot com with tips, conversation starters, and introductions. I can't promise I'll have the time to reply to everything, but I'll be keeping this site updated with my plans, event appearances, and records of adventures. I hope we have the chance to talk soon, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

QUEER LOVE AND SOLIDARITY WILL SAVE THE WORLD!
